MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

The national and international sports industry has become some of the most exciting career fields for the 21st Century.  This new 650 billion dollars industry is providing career opportunities in a multitude of skilled areas related to both men and women sports.  Pacifica University is a unique small college that offers a variety of exciting education opportunities and professional skill development programs for students interested in pursing careers in the sports industry.  College level courses, professional certificates and professional clinics are being offered in such academic areas as, Sports Psychology, Sports Communications, Kinesiology, Sports Management, and Sports Marketing.  Special Certification Programs are offered in personal training, coaching, sport’s injury management and sports ministry.  Instruction is provided both online and in the classroom.

Pacifica University’s team consists of both scholarly academicians and working professionals in the sports industry.  Our motto is “Sports is our emphasis: Arête is our goal”.  Students will be provided state of the art instruction by both sports experts and proven scholars experienced both in academia and the sports business industry.  The majority of Pacifica’s students are athletes and expected to participate in one of the many inter-collegiate sport or club sport offerings.  Our current sports offerings include men and women’s basketball, men’s baseball, women’s softball and women’s volleyball.  Additional sports, such as soccer and rugby are scheduled to be added in the fall.

Accreditation: Pacifica University recognizes the importance of accreditation. After our first two years of existence we are eligible for many accreditations. Our Board of Trustees and executive staff are actively working on different accreditations at this time. A combination of national and regional accreditation will lead to one of the most respected institutions in the country. All students enrolled in our programs will be recognized by the time of their graduation.

Sports: As Pacifica has an emphasis on sports we place a high value of associations, conferences and leagues. Our varsity sports are a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA). When the time is appropriate the University will join a conference and the NCAA. The University is also a member of respected club organizations such as the NCBA. One of the missions of the University is to provide a level of sports that all of our students may participate. That may be in the form of varsity, club or intra-mural.
